The Swaram Program at Notes n’ Beats, founded by mother-daughter duo Smt. Umarani and Ms. Veena in Ashburn, VA, offers student-centered Indian classical music education that focuses on understanding each child’s interests while strengthening their connection to Indian roots through music.
Our academy, while offering training in Carnatic Classical and Hindustani Classical music, also integrates Western harmonies with Indian classical music, offering training in solo, group, A Cappella, and ensemble performances.
Accomplished instructors like Smt. Umarani, Ms. Aswathy Vijayan, Dr. Ramaa Pusthakam, Mr. Bhargav, Mr. Gopika Sinha and Mr. Suhruth Rao (Hindustani), Ms. Indu Prakasam, Ms. Swetha Ashok, Ms. Chitra Sridhar, Ms. Savitha Raghavendran, Mr. Vishnu on the Navtar and Mr. Vishnu Ashok (Violin) bring rich diversity to our program.

Early Swaram Program
Over the years of watching our students grow and thrive, we have learned that starting music at a young age is by far one of the most important elements of becoming a successful musician. Early Notes n’ Beats introduces children (ages 4–5.5) to rhythm, melody, and classical music in an engaging, hands-on environment. Our expert vocal trainers guide young musicians through:
-
Interactive vocal songs
-
Group activities exploring melody and rhythm
-
Introduction to classical techniques
-
Exciting performance opportunities
This program helps children transition smoothly into more advanced musical studies based on their interests and focus ability. For in-person and online voice lessons in Ashburn, VA, call (855) 687-4220.
