Chitra Sridhar has been singing Carnatic Classical music since the age of four, and has studied with legendary vocalists such as Maharajapuram Santhanam and Smt R Vedavalli. She is a performer of Carnatic Classical music as well as "Cine" music, and regularly performs across the United States. She has shared stages with Legendary artists such as Melody Queen P Suseela and Smt Jamuna Rani. Chitra has sung with many artists like Hitesh Master from Chicago, the well known Dhwanit Joshi from Washington DC, drummer Kalyan Pathak from Chicago, and many more. Recently Chitra performed at the prestigious Klose to my Heart Sonu Nigam concert held in Detroit. She has been interviewed on well known radio shows such as "Radio Tharanga" and "Gaata Rahe Mera Dil" in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also recently released albums with music directors and released albums by HMV Saregama. She has done playback singing for the malayalam versions of the super hit Tamil movies ''Kumki '' and ""KO "" which were recently released in Kerala. Chitra also sang a duet in the upcoming Telugu movie ''Shriramachandrudu evarikkada'', and sang the official song for the all India Kabaddi tournament held in Chennai at Queen Marys College. She has also lent her voice to prime time serials on SUN TV like Kalyana Parisu and Vani rani. Chitra has been teaching Carnatic Classical music for over 15 years in the Detroit metro area.
